In 2006, B Investments and its affiliates (all managed by BPE Partners) acquired 32% of Madinet Masr. Since the acquisition, the company has undergone a full transformation in all aspects of its operation. As of 2019, Madinet Masr had developed approximately 40 million sqm of land in Cairo’s suburbs, which are now home to 3 million people. The company owns a sizeable land bank of approximately 9 million sqm currently under development across 6 different projects. 3.5 million sqm of the land bank are located in a prime location near Cairo International Airport and 5.5 million sqm are strategically located on the Suez Road in East Cairo, in close proximity to the New Administrative Capital.
